What if the first Coney Island amusement parks celebrated Halloween season the way theme parks do today? That was the inspiration for "Terror Tillie," an homage to the classic “Funny Face” mascot of Coney Island’s Steeplechase Park. (The Steeplechase mascot earned the nickname "Tillie" in honor of the park's brilliant creator George C. Tilyou.)
This design, with an aged vintage look, is a shirt I would loved to have purchased around the turn of the last century. Oh, to go back in time and convince George to turn Steeplechase into "The Spooky Place..."
